In person transaction - Am I still protected from fraudulent claims?

I am meeting with someone in person to sell my laptop. Normally I would sell my laptop online through websites like eBay, where I understand there is some level of seller protection against fraudulent claims. If the buyer sends me a personal payment via Paypal, am I still protected the same way as if I sold my laptop on eBay?

Once I see the balance in my account, is it safe to say that I can give him my laptop to complete our transaction? I am concerned that after he leaves with my laptop he can file a complaint, or make some sort of credit card dispute to reverse the transaction.

There is no seller protection for items personally delivered or collected, your best bet is to NOT use paypal and accept cash on collection?
