Phone number changed - can't log in

My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile. 

Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.

I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.

Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.

Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.

Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!

Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

My account is active and in use.

However I am not able to log in as I need to recieve a text message or a phone call but PayPal only has my old number.

How can I change this?

I don't have the phone connected to my PayPal account and now I want to login, I was ask to confirm using the old number what should be done I need help

So I changed my phone number and decided to get in paypal to change it, but i cant do that because paypal sends me a text on my old phone number,is there a way to change it without logging into the account

I lost access to my sim card and now I can't log in, I have the email and password and I am from the same ip adress and I have the national id card proves that I am the real owner I can take as many pictuers with my id card to prove I am the real owner please help guys I am stuck I can't contact paypal becausse apperantly if I need to contact them about having trouble accessing my account I need to access my account to do that.

I cannot login because the phone number paypal has for me is no longer in use. When I login, paypal asks to call the number and I need to input the code, however the phone number is no longer in use.

If you go to the 'Help & Contact' icon on the PayPal website. Then if you click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page. From here, if you click the 'Password and Account Access' option, then 'Login Problems'. On the next page, you will see a 'Call Us' option. You do not need to be logged in to use this feature.

I already called paypal on 020 3901 7000 many times but cannot get through. after holding more than 15 mins every time, I gave up.

I would allow a few hours, stick the phone on loud speaker and get on with what you need to do until they pick up?

You can try some other ways first but to be honest calling is your best bet to get things sorted.

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

Thank you very much for your honest answer. I did not expect paypal customer service so bad. Is there a way to close the account and get all the balance transferred to the bank account without logging in?
