Sadly you can't use Paypal without a mobile phone now, so once you have regained access add one quickly so this does not happen again.
If you go to the 'Help & Contact' icon on the PayPal website. Then if you click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page. From here, if you click the 'Password and Account Access' option, then 'Login Problems'. On the next page, you will see a 'Call Us' option. You do not need to be logged in to use this feature.
When I log in it says it needs two factor authentication but only gives my old number which I haven't used for years.
you'd think it'd let you add your new number at that point but there's no option to do this. I don't have access to that old number.
how can I log in? They really haven't thought this through at all.
I have the same trouble I can't log in as I have lost my old phone and have tried to get in touch but still stuck without a paypal account
Same here. It says to change the phone number in the profile section, but you need to log in to do this, but I can't as I no longer have the number stated. Catch 22.
I had the same problem today. To fix this, I claimed to forget my password and I just reset my password. I had to receive the reset password through my email. After changing your password, you can then log into your account and you don't have to do the PSD2. Once in, add your current number in your account and set it as the preferred number. Also activate your new number. You can now remove your old number from your account. hope this helps
Suspect you got lucky as PSD2 isn't always requested.
I changed my password when trying to find a workaround and PSD2 still required.
I can't get around the issue.
