unable to confim email address

I want to add another email address to my profile. It is currently showing as unconfirmed. I have tried multiple times to confirm it by sending an email confirmation. When I click the link to confirm, I get a message that we are unable to process the request at this time. I finally was able to talk to a real person who was not able to solve the problem and scheduled a follow up phone call at 9:00am this morning (specifically at that time because I said that I would be traveling later). He called at 9:45, I said that I couldn't talk, and we scheduled another call at 4:00 this afternoon. It's now 5:30, and I'm still waiting. The only reason that I need to do this is because I mistakenly gave the alternate email, and I'm owed money and the transfer is pending until I get this resolved.

I do understand your frustration with this. It sounds like you are experiencing a technical issue when trying to confirm your email address. 

 

I do apologize for the call backs being delayed. This could be due to a few factors, for example the agent you are speaking to is not available at that specific time.

Thank you for the reply. I have talked to several people and also talked to the PayPal assistant. All give me the same answer and help which is to send me a email with a link to confirm my email address. I have probably done this 25 times. When I click the link to confirm, I get an error message that "we are unable to process at this time. Try again later". Every time I talk to someone or reply to the assistant, I tell them the same thing. The email link does not work to confirm the email. Then they do the same thing which is to send me another email link to confirm. This is no help at all! Can no one think outside the box, or escalate the problem to someone who can actually fix this? I'm owed money, the payment is in process, and I can't change it. I can't accept and receive it until this email address is confirmed.

 

FIX THE PROBLEM!!!

@Minnebelle, thanks for clarifying further. I'm sorry to hear you're still running into issues confirming your email. Have you tried confirming that email from another device or clearing your browser's cache, cookies, and history? That normally does the trick. If you're unable to confirm the email to claim the payment within 30 days, the payment may be reversed back to sender. You can read more about unclaimed payments here

I’ve tried iPhone, iPad, two computers, cleared cache, cookies, history, website with different browsers and the app. Nothing worked. My son and I finally claimed the money by deleting the email from my PayPal account and adding it to his account. Not an ideal or easy solution but it worked.
