sending a gift

how do i send an item i purchased to a different address and to the attention of someone other than myself, such as a gift?

You can add a gift address to your paypal account as long as the address is in the same country.

You can't change the name of your paypal account though to allow it to reflect differently on a purchase.

i added another address but did not see an option to lable it as a gift address, thus it would go to the other address with my name on it instead of the receiptants name. can a different name be asociated with the new address?

Once you have added the gift address you select it during checkout on the site you are purchasing from.
