Unsolicited Marketing messages From Paypal

I have blocked marketing messages in my Paypal profile since it's inception. This week I started receiving "savings" notifications for Paypal vendors with which I have had no prior interaction.  These are clearly "marketing messages."  Has this happened to anyone else?  I have forwarded my concern to Paypal with no response to date.

Same here, most recently from Overstock.com and previously for some mattresses.

All marketing is turned off on my account. Ridiculous.
