PayPal for Business verification for companies based outside of the US

Hey there! My name is Matic and I have opened a PayPal account today for my business, an Ltd. company based in Slovenia. I've been trying to verify the account, but apparently it's mandatory to choose a US state where my business is based. Well, it's NOT based in the US, but in Slovenia, Europe. But it won't let me choose that option, it forces me to pick a US state. Also I've tried to link my business' bank account to the PayPal account, but it seems I can only choose US banks, and my bank (based in Slovenia) is not an option, and I can't even type it in, it won't find it. But I know a loooot of Slovenian businesses use PayPal, so I know for a fact this can somehow be resolved, I just can't seem to figure out how. What do I do? Thanks.. 🙂

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I'm sorry to hear you're having issues getting your account up and running. It sounds like you may have created a US-based PayPal account. If that's the case, you would want to close your account and register it in your country of residence. Otherwise, I would recommend reaching out to our Customer Support teams by clicking Contact at the bottom of any PayPal page for further assistance.

I had the exact same problem but with an extra little cherry on top: My browser (Safari) generated a password for me but did not save it (crazy right?). So I tried to click "Forgot Password" but there, as soon as I type my email and click next, I get a page that says "We could not confirm it's you":

So I tried calling on the phone but my issue was of course not in the possible option with the lovely robot and I wasn't able to speak to a human. I tried "I want to speak to a human" twice then I get the step where I have to press "3" because it's a different issue then I got "We cannot process your inquiry by phone".

 

Now I have an account at Paypal US with my Slovenian business email, I can never delete that account (which btw, is in breach of GDPR) and therefore, I can never use that email to open my account at Paypal Slovenia. It's super frustrating but I think my only solution now is to pay my domain provider for extra email accounts... or can someone help me? @PayPal_JonK are you still around?

Sorry for the trouble you're facing while accessing your account! Please try clearing cache/cookies and also try using a different browser or device to see if this works. If you have the PayPal app and have touch ID enabled you can access your account without entering your password.
