How do I setup SMS as my 2FA choice?

I've been using 2FA with the Google Authenticator - no problem. I finally realized that an Authenticator is not a good choice as if I lose my phone I could lose access to many apps. I started downloading backup codes from all of my apps and when I got to PayPal I learned that they don't provide backup codes. So no I want to go back to SMS. I turned off 2FA through authenticator but when I go back to add 2FA it only gives me the 2 choices of an Authenticator APP or Security Key. No SMS. My wife is using SMS so it must be an option. You can spend hours trying to figure out the most basic options and ultimately giving up....
Hope somebody knows and can share the secret
Thanks

Thank you for writing in the PayPal Help Community!
I see you're looking to enable 2-step verification via text again. With 2-Step Verification, each time you log in, in addition to your password, you can enter one time code via text message or you can generate using authenticator app. Please note that you will not be able to enable 2-step verification via text again as you have disabled before. More information about 2-step verification can be found in this article : What is 2-step verification and how do I turn it on or off?
I hope this information helps you,
Bindu
