An unknown purchase was made onto my paypal and I can't log into my account anymore

Hello,
12h ago I got an email saying that 999$ purchase was made on my PayPal account, but I didn't make any such purchases, however, as I tried to cancel the purchase on my account, I couldn't log in to my PayPal as the phone number I used to create it is no longer active.
I've made this new account to contact support, but I can't as the support site only gives a code and no number to actually call (probably because it's past their working hours).
Do any of you have any ideas on how to resolve this logging-in issue? I do have access to my email and password.

If you go to the 'Help & Contact' icon on the PayPal website. Then if you click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page. From here, if you click the 'Password and Account Access' option, then 'Login Problems'. On the next page, you will see a 'Call Us' option. You do not need to be logged in to use this feature.
