Why would PayPal checkout use an old address I already deleted from the PayPal website?

PayPal checkout quietly used an address that I had deleted from the PayPal website about 2 hours prior to making my purchase. I noticed the wrong address (only partially displayed) immediately after clicking the purchase button. I was like, WTF!? I updated your website 2 hours ago, and now you're going to use the address I deleted!? PayPal checkout must be hooked into a different database, and they must not be using web-hooks (which is kind of surprising since I was under the impression that Bill Scott had whipped PayPal into shape almost 10 years ago).
Anyway.. this is super annoying because now I have to sweat whether the seller is going to see my emails attempting to course-correct before they ship out my item.
Bill... if you're listening... please have someone fix this.

A little screenshot action to help tell the story. PayPal checkout CLEARLY is connected to the main PayPal database because the address I added (and made "primary") is now displayed as an option... but they don't automatically change your default which is a massive UX Fail. I mean... why make people manage addresses in two places? The addresses displayed in that list have been used at various points while I was traveling... so.. if you're going to keep them, sync them into PayPal Addresses list and let me manage them their while I'm updating other facets of my account! Don't just quietly use an address you KNOW isn't the same as one I JUST ADDED!
