I agree 1000%. I use a VPN as part of my security protocol. Not sure if this is what causes this but I don't want to change my password every time I access Paypal from behind my VPN. But that seems to be what is happening. I can be the judge of whether or not there is suspicious activity on my account and whether or not I need to change my password and PIN. Suspicious activity is not grounds to change my password and PIN. I provide that judgement. Suspicious activity is neither a felony or a misdemeanor, so until a crime is actually committed, please quit punishing me. This is extremely intrusive and as with every other knee-jerk reaction, is going to cause most users to abandon secure passwords in favor of just getting past this extreme inconvenience. Please, please, please, just lock our accounts, provide details of the event(s) that triggered the action, and above all let us be the judge of whether or not something suspicious has happened. There is no reason to not just hold transactions in pending status until the verification occurs. I have over 600 user name and password combinations that I have to keep track of, a great majority of which have vastly different character, length, and history requirements. For God's sake, let me manage my security and have the choice of taking corrective measure and changing my password or just verifying account activity and continuing on.
