What a nightmare! I sent my granddaughter $150 via PayPal so she could come visit me. She didn't realize that her account was a hypenated name as her Mom had opened her account. Pay Pal didn't like the hyphenated name, so they froze her account!! When I called to ask them to return my money they said they couldn't, that only my granddaughter could release the funds. Yet when she called to do so, they told her that only I could do that!! I spent over SIX hours yesterday trying to get ahold of customer service. The only place I could get was the Phillipines!! They hardly speak English and were absolutely terrible! They refused to return my money. They refused to give me a phone number in the states so I could speak to someone in customer service, they refused to let me speak with a supervisor or manager and even lied and said THEY were a supervisor!! I tried talking with the Chat Line hoping that it might be located in the US and they could help me. They couldn't do anything and told me the same thing....that my Granddaughter had to call and get the refund sent to me. But when she did that they said NO!! I was hung up on 4 times and spent hours on hold! This is the worst customer service I've ever seen in any company....and I'm 71 yrs old!!! I had to go to my bank and file a dispute. Was told by the bank they will investigate but there is no guarantee that I'll get the money!! THIS IS THEFT! PAY PAL IS STEALING MY MONEY!! Another customer at the bank said she had the same problem with a refund and she also got NO help and was frustrated! I now believe that Pay Pal is a scam and to be avoided at all costs!
