Hello, I've done a purchase straight through PayPal with a seller recently. I paid for product and services which should cover me as a buyer. The item has arrived but it is damaged, piece of it has been broken in transit. It wasn't cheap and I would have expected better for the price I paid. Where do I stand on returning this item? I tried to be reasonable with the seller and solve the issue in a friendly manner but since the beginning of this the seller has been trying to pressure me into accepting it broken like that if he would partially refund me so I can go get it fixed. It was an expensive item (A collectible) and for the price I paid I really expected a good quality not an item which I would have to fix. He kept telling me the item is much more expensive in mint condition so I should be happy to keep for the price he offered. I am a collector and I take pride in what I collect so tried to explain him that the money is not the problem and that the item reached broken, not what I agreed to pay for before the transaction. Now he is telling me he didn't know the item is so fragile and that if I am to send it back it has to reach in perfect condition and that he is sure the item will reach broken which will put us in a bit of a pickle as I have to return it as I received it. I am going to pack it better than he packed it and add some extra layers of protection but I feel like he wants to pressure me into accepting the broken item or he will make my life difficult in returning the item and getting a refund. Where do I stand here and how should I proceed? I feel like he is taking advantage of me and this is causing me a lot of stress lately. Thank you! Kind regards, Thoth D.
