I had fraudulent transactions on September 11th. There were three charges for train tickets in Spain for that same date, totalling 260 Euros, which would be approximately $300 USD. I live in Panama, currently in Panama, never been to Spain, and have no relation to Spain. I filed a claim under "unauthorized transaction" through the resolution center in the morning, and that same evening the case was closed and my claim rejected, Paypal stating that "the decision was made because the transaction was not unauthorized". I was flabbergasted... I, the account holder, never made the payment nor recognize it, so we are dealing with an unauthorized fraudelent payment, but it is very disappointing and disheartening form them to so simply reject the claim because "the transaction was not unauthorized". How can they determine this so easily? Seems that they haven´t even properly investigated the case. I have browsed the web to see if there have been similiar cases to mine, and was able to find a couple. It appears that Paypal mechanically brushes off this cases. Been a user of Paypal for almost 10 years, with no problem until today and this simple incident is making me doubt the seriousness and credibility of the service.
