I noticed one of the proposed "SOLUTIONS" was the sellers to mark-up their prices with the fee collected on the sales tax. This is totally wrong. Just an example: Let's say I'm a seller in EU and I sell worldwide (which I am). Let's see what happens if I sell an item costing about $200 + shipping to two people: one in USA, one in Brazil. For the person in USA, ebay adds a sales tax of $20. Paypal collects the whole amount, then charges me 4.9% (+ the non-refundable $0.30 fee) for the whole amount, then sends the full sales tax ($20) to ebay. The fee on this sale tax is $1.00. Obviously it's not correct the seller to pay this PP fee, because the seller does not collect nor manage sales tax, nor he has any choice to do so. But the seller pays this fee automatically and in full - the question is WHY? The same transaction with Brazil will not add any sales tax, so the seller will receive the full amount. My opinion is the Paypal fee on sales tax is totally wrong, AND either ebay or paypal or both MUST CHANGE it. Now, to return to one of the suggested "SOLUTIONS". The person who suggested it - please tell me - is it reasonable to charge ALL buyers (worldwide) with a fee applicable to US buyers? Or... Why charge buyers from all countries with an additional amount collected IMPROPERLY, and only for buyers from a certain countries (maybe in total - two countries worldwide). A fee on sales tax which ebay sellers do not (and can't) manage is WRONG, and the offered solution is definitely not reasonable (politely said).
