I'm not sure what category to put this in sorry.... So I was searching jobs on craigslist and came across one that said "Dog sitter/walker for abuse shelter", considering I am a certified Vet Assistant who can't find a job, it sounded sooo nice to me. He asked for you to either send a copy of your certificate or take a test on some website called www.provemyskills.com, I don't have my certificate yet because of loan issues with the school but I wanted this job so bad so I decided to take the test. It was almost $50, but they gave you a discount code to take $30 off. Sounds nice right? Of course I didn't look into it because it seemed legit. So I went ahead and took the test and it was a long 86 question test, really could show someones skills with animals. For some reason afterward I decided to look into it because he never gave a name of the shelter or anything and I found on another website the SAME POSTING from Nov. of 2009 saying that this was a scam and this just happened to me today. Also, the guy's name was different. I emailed the guy to try to get my money back or atleast ask more questions and of course, it's all automated responses. I feel dumb for not looking into it more and actually paying money to take a stupid test. Is there anyway to resolve this issue? I obviously can't get a hold of the guy to get my money back and even though it was only like $13 I don't want this scumbag to keep 1 cent of it! I'm so lost as to what to do now because I've never had this happen to me before, I'm usually so good about spotting a scam but being in dire need of a job, I let my guard down. Can anyone please help me with what I should do next? I payed for the test and I was able to take the test but it was just an overall very well thought out scam. Guy did an awful lot for just $13....
