It is amazing to me to see the number of sellers who, as they are not really affected by Paypal's thievery, don't' seem to care. If a buyer sends a payment with a faulty address or changes their mind before you even ship, you lose the fee. I had a buyer pay me over $4600, twice with faulty addresses. I had no choice but to refund and try to get a good address with the payment. The third time was the charm, but, if this had happened today instead of last year, the fees (3.9%) would have been lost. For various reasons( shipping overages, discounts and actual returns) we have had over $30K in refunds for each of the past two years. Paypal does NOTHING, as everything is done electronically. There is no actual money involved, just ledger balances. Paypal is STEALING the money, period. I just had a buyer try to extort a discount from us AFTER the sale. When I refused, she demanded that we cancel the transaction and paypal keeps the fee. The buyer, dishonorable as she was, at least was not a out-and-out thief as paypal is in all of these refunds. Anyone with your paypal email address can send you money and demand a reversal, with paypal keeping the fees. And ebay is helping this along nicely. What are you selling? It really doesn't matter. All that matters is free shipping and free returns for up to 180 days. What a Racket. Al Capone would be jealous.
