Hi, I sent PayPal a support request on this but their response hasn't been great. So I'm hoping the community can point me in the right direction.
I am a business in the UK with PayPal already integrated for e-commerce. I need a solution regarding automating and tracking withdrawals from PayPal. At the moment, what I do is perform lump-sum withdrawals manually. With the volume of payments I process, this makes reconciling the payments very difficult.
To streamline my systems and bring PayPal in line with the other payment options, I need to be able to:
1) Make automated withdrawals on a fixed schedule (e.g. daily, every 3 days etc) that have a clear relationship with incoming payments. For example, if I received three customer payments of £105 each, the withdrawal would be exactly £315, and it would represent settlement of exactly these three transactions - this will allow me to do the reconciliation.
2) Query the PayPal API for: a) A list of withdrawals b) For each of those withdrawals, which specific transactions are represented within it
Both the above points are important in order to do what I need to do. Basically I'm looking for settlement functionality similar to what you would find with a traditional payment gateway.
Does anyone know if PayPal offers such a facility?
When I wrote to PayPal, I was told: a) To visit this URL - https://www.paypal.com/ie/webscr?cmd=settlement-withdrawl - I did, but it is a dead URL. Am surprised PayPal support are handing out dead URLs!
b) To speak to "Merchant Support" regarding API-related questions.
Before I go on a wild goose chase, can anyone tell me:
a) Is the above possible? b) What is it called? c) Can I set it all up myself within the account or do I need someone to do it for me? If so, which department specifically?
Thanks for any help!
