Hello, I am wading through the horrible minefield that is setting up a PayPal account for a charity. I went through the awful process of setting up a business account (because apparently that's what you're supposed to do) and now am trying, as per PayPal's vague instructions, to convert it to a charity account. But I've hit a brick wall - when setting it up, the bizarre "service keyword" thing only had completely inappropriate categories available. So I chose something almost vaguely appropriate ( there was nothing available for "charity" or "not-for-profit", so I chose "Civic, Social, and Fraternal Associations") and now PayPal is telling me (when I try to go through the charity process) that "Your business classification is not eligible. To confirm your charity, your service keyword must be Charitable and Social Service Organization." So I click on Edit Company Profile, and the stupid Service Keyword thing is not editable. About 10 minutes ago, I could edit it, but again, just had the fixed choices, and nothing "Charitable" at all. Now, if I try to edit my Company Profile, if I simply add my email address to the Customer Service Email address, and click Save, I get the error "We're sorry, we are not able to process your request. Please check your entries and try again." If anyone can suggest anything useful (other than use a different payment provider) then I would be most grateful to hear from you. So far, using PayPal feels like I'm dealing with some kid-in-his-mum's-basement kind of operation, where nothing really works as it should.
