I contacted PayPal who said they would knowing the problem (which they are not addressing in any way that helps the customer) they would deposit two further payments into my account within two working days and that these amounts could be used as the confirmation number. This did not happen. There was no further payments into my account. I responded to the email three times, all ignored. The deadline for the payment was uncomfortably close. It took me well over 30 minutes to reach a person at PayPal who told me that it was my banks fault. in fact as I quite obviously appear very stupid repeated it. I am bewildered that my bank can stop PayPal replying to my email or perhaps the Paypal "advisor" didn't think my side of the conversation was worth listening to... result, Paypal credit account closed, friends and family told, will be posted on my Facebook page later today. Well done PayPal.
