Hired a local woman to clean my home because she needed money and I'm recently diagnosed with cancer and need the help. Recently her financial situation starting becoming a problem she would ask for money for gas or an uber to come to work or an advance to pay her rent for the hotel she lives in. One day while cleaning my house she swiped my phone and used my account to send money from my account to hers. Took nearly a month before i even realized it, if I'm not hard up for money i don't really pay attention to it. Anyway i noticed it yesterday and reported the transaction and paypal immediately closed it determining it was authorized without even investigating. So i find out today she is also having other legal issues regarding her own account and illegal activity from a woman who lives near me whose husband was using their joint account to send this same woman money apparently for illegal goods and she filed a dispute as well. What can i do if i can't escalate because they closed it immediately this is a $300 transaction i have never in the history of paying her to clean my home via paypal ever paid her such a high fee yet they call it authorized. What recourse do I have to recover my funds?
