I retraced my steps by deleting the last 2 hours of history.
In Google, ABOVE the searched PayPal link is paypal.com ad. In a rush, a user sees PayPal.com and does not read the text around this link.
On clicking this PayPal.com link, you are asked to pay. I guess many are scammed by this clever use of PayPal AND Google.

Browsers offer the option to remember logins. I said yes. At login, I have then been hijacked by chi@ludospsik. 33mail.com Pass-Gen-Win-software virus is demanding I pay them. At login, instead of my usual control panel, the ONLY option was a link to pay these guys!!! How this appeared, I do not know. Where it cam from, I do not know. It is like a virus sitting inside PayPal. How and why, at login, I was directed to this demand to pay, I do not really know. The only thing I did was allow my browser to remember my login. I closed the window and logged in again - came to the same demand to pay. No escape link! I have to manually enter Paypal.com to escape this payment request.
