I'm trying to link a bank account so I can send payments. I am using the "I have a different bank" option. Every time I fill in the information, I get "We're sorry. We're not able to process your request right now. Please try again later." I've been at this for a while and have waited longer than I'd like to against an error message that means nothing and gives no timeframe for when "later" is. I know my information is valid because the process has worked before. I actually already linked this bank account but I failed to complete the process in time when the deposits were made, and PayPal unlinked the account automatically. (It actually gave me this same error previously, but it went away on its own in just a couple of minutes, which it now isn't.) I have also tried to add a phone number to my PayPal account and I didn't receive the verification code in time. I did finally get it several hours later when I tried to do all this before but that was useless because the window to use it is fifteen minutes so I can given up and gone to bed by the time it arrived. I don't know why, but it's not working now either, and I know my phone has access because it gets other notifications. (I'm under the impression that having the phone number on my account isn't essential but would be nice. Am I right?) Hoping a PayPal technician can find this and take a look at why the registration isn't going through. If nothing else, I hope they can improve the error message so it gives me some idea who's end the problem might even be on. I've tried a different browser but that didn't fix the problem so I'm not going to waste any more time assuming it's on my end.
