Hi All, Sorry for my first post to be asking for help and be pretty long but I really don't know who to turn to, and hopefully someone here will be able to shed some light on the scenario. I sold a watch on eBay on 31/03/2019 for £410 plus £10 postage. I have owned the watch since new (2010) and have had it serviced regularly in that period I owned it, it really was in perfect condition and working order. The buyer paid quickly and I got the item sent out the next day, he received it and all was well until a dispute was opened 3.5 months later through PayPal saying it was not as described. The buyer stated various contradictory things like the watch gained 5-10 minutes a day in one message, then he said it gained 6 hours a day on another message and that it would stop after an hour of inactivity. I was really worried that he had used the watch and broke it somehow and was trying to return it. My issue was with the amount of time before contacting me, a week or so yes, OK return it (even though I know it was perfect), but 3 odd months, it felt like a scam. Anyway, PayPal ruled in favour of the buyer and he returned it. This is where it really get's fishy.......I check the watch and it is still perfect!! It holds time well (2 seconds gained in 8 hours which is pretty darn good for an automatic chronograph), and it does not stop after an hour of inactivity, in fact, it was running when I opened the box so it at least lasted 24hr on reserve power. Basically, the watch is in perfect order and in essence, he has rented it from me for 4 months for free which really hurts. I have lost £41.00 in eBay fees and now I'm being chased for £410 by PayPal which I just don't have ( I always leave the fund in PayPal for a few weeks incase I have to refund, after that I have to use it. ) I sold this watch because my business went into liquidation and it was something I could get good money for, but I would never sell a faulty item because Imo there is no point as the buyer will be rightly able to want a refund. Now I have another debt when I'm working hard to reduce debts. Is there anything I can do to recoup some of the fees and bring PayPal and the buyer to justice. I know it's along post but thanks in advance for any help received, Regards Spencer
