Hey guys, I had a quick question.
So I am a photographer, and I charge a retainer for any photoshoot/event booked. I clearly stated to one of my clients that I would require a $60 retainer to book her time slot. She was a no-show. I still went out of my way to kindly follow up with her to see if she was going to make it or not. She responded, "I don't have custody of my kids this weekend after all. Wont be able to make it." We then, re-scheduled for a later date, and she didn't show up to that appointment either. She gave another excuse, and then asked if she could get her retainer back. I clearly told her that retainers are non-refundable as I have turned away potential bookings due to my obligation to her time slot.
She then went and filed a darn claim with her back and paypal took the money out of my account.
I have provided screenshots and responded to the claim immediately. I've been hearing alot of t hings about paypal not giving money back after a claim despite evidence given to support the claim. anyone have any issues with this? I feel this was SO unethical on my client's behalf. You can't pay a $200 retainer to book your wedding, and then file a claim to get it back just because you called the darn wedding off. Not right people -__-
