Someone just Paypal'd me money out of the blue, then said it was his mistake and asked me to "send back".
From the scam page I read below: (https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/FAQ3176)
"A scammer may have paid with a stolen credit card, bank account number or checking account.
Just because a payment has been deposited into your account, doesn't mean the money is yours to keep. If the legitimate account holder reports unauthorized activity, the money can be withdrawn from your account."
He sent me the money as a payment to a merchant. I am not a merchant, I only use Paypal as a consumer. Is it safe for me to click the "Refund this payment" button below? Or is it safer to ask the sender to get back his money by contacting Paypal and probably filing a dispute? This person might continue to send me more fake payments. Paypal's "Resolution Center" said i can't report this as a problem, because the money was sent to me. I am busy as it is, how can I resolve this with less work on my part?
