I hope I can get advice on here.
My wife's account was hacked on Dec 5, last week, and three unauthorized transactions carried out. She reported the instance to PayPal, changes her password and Security Questions & Answers. But a few days later, despite PayPal having solved the case and returned the money into her account and the changes to the password and security questions, clearing caches and cookies, there was another problem with the account again.
This time, the account is inaccessible, when she tries to log in, she gets this message "Check your entries and try again" when she tried a password reset (despite being sure what her password is) she got this other error message "There's no account associated with this email, use a different email address or create a new account"
It seems as though the account went from being fully operational to being non-existent overnight. Has anyone else ever came across this problem? How did PayPal solve it for you? In our case, we have tried to call the customer support on phone but it hasn't ever gone through, our phone service provider cites issues with the call. I tried reaching PayPal on Twitter, Facebook and even from my account but no help yet.
Does anyone know whether this was a hack attack or a problem with the account itself? Is it possible to recover the account and the money that was in it, and are there any ideas on how to get this fixed?
Thanks.
