Again I have to conclude that PayPal's customer support is generally useless, because it is too much automated...
The disputes that we open are not resolved by a human being, but just a scoring system! This is very sad. PayPal wants us to trust it, whereas it doesn't do anything to be trusted! We are even considering to close our account on PayPal for those reasons. There are plenty of payment processing solutions now on the market. Why stay with the one, you cannot trust any longer?
Oh, well... Here's my story.
I bought a CD on Discogs (a large music-selling platform). The seller charged 2,90 EUR for the CD and 1,90 EUR shipping. I payed this amount with PayPal. When I received this CD it was in a much poorer condition as described by the seller! On the same day I shipped the CD back at my own cost.
It turned out so, that the seller resides in just 20 kilometers from me - in the neighboring city. So I shipped the damn thing with a regular post, without any tracking. On the next day the seller provided me a negative feedback (cite): "He sent back the complained CD with several marks and finger prints. That was not on the disk before!".
This feedback is still available at Discogs and I have a screenshot of it. Isn't that a proof of delivery?!
I waited for the refund a couple of days and then went ahead and opened a dispute at PayPal. At the time of opening a dispute there is no option to attach any files! After a few days PayPal closed the case in the seller's favor and e-mailed me the following:
So PayPal obviously asked the seller whether he had received the returned item or not. The seller obviously said NO (the seller was quarrelsome and not adequate - therefore I wanted to avoid direct contact with him).
PayPal did not ask me for any proof, PayPal hadn't called me or sent an e-mail asking what was wrong with my experience. PayPal didn't even provide me with the opportunity to upload the screenshots! In other words, PayPal doesn't give a damn.
Why shall I trust PayPal after that?
Just to make it clear:
I don't care about 2,90 EUR. My post is not about this.
My post is about the fact, that the payment provider which wants me to trust it, does not hear my voice and covers the liars. I have no other way to report the dishonest seller, as to post at the community forum! There is no option to contact PayPal on this particular case! It stands off from us and provide me FAQ articles, community posts and other bunch of automated **bleep**! Literally ANYTHING that is useless!
If I don't get PayPal's reaction to this post within a reasonable time frame, we well leave.
Thanks
Mark
