Hello everyone,
Recently I won a Car Auction from eBay. The seller asked to pay a 100£ through PayPal and rest on Collection. When I got there to take the Car. It had more faults than mentioned. For example:
"Seller mentioned he had a pre-MOT test and everything came fine to pass but one problem that the Radiator Fan doesn't come on as It should, the charge to fix is 80£". When I asked for the paperwork mentioning the same and also that MOT centres don't check the Radiator fans, he had no paperwork to show and no quote to fix the problem is present. Also, if he can get the pre-MOT test done, why couldn't he get the full MOT done when MOT expiry was only 25 days after the test.
Then, the seller mentioned "the Car is only good for short trips until the Problem is fixed, as the Radiator doesn't hold water for long and Fan will go on and off. "
From Birmingham to Reading was not an option to drive and it wasn't mentioned anywhere in the Description. The Car Listing wasn't for spares and repairs, it was for an excellent driveable Car.
So I told the seller, this isn't what you have mentioned in the listing, it has clearly more faults.
His response was, it's fine but you are not going to get the 100£ you paid.
I opened the dispute and trying to communicate with him. Then he escalated the dispute saying I was trying to blackmail him saying I know the policies and I am using Buyer Protection to waste time etc. and I am lost with Unpaid Item case on me as well with no option to respond anywhere.
Is this normal?
