So I posted a laptop for sale on ebay and about 10 hours later got a request from a woman to buy the item. I agreed and she asked for my paypal email, and I didn't think it was suspicious at the time, so I gave it to her. Then she said she would send payment within 2 hours. 2 hours later I received an email in spam that looked like it came from paypal. The email contained information about how much the item was and that the buyer was paying 100 dollars extra because she wanted it shipped to Nigeria for her "nephew" and that she lived in LA, and needed one-day express shipping. The email also said that I would not see payment in my paypal account until I sent PayPal the tracking number, after sending the item through USPS. I then contacted the buyer and told her I would not pay for one-day shipping because that was not the shipping I agreed upon when I listed the item. Then the buyer said she filed a report with ebay and paypal that said I was refusing to mail the item and that her money was deducted from her account. Then I received another email from paypal and another from ebay in my spam for google mail, and they both said that if I did not mail the item and send the tracking number within 24 hours, legal action would be taken and I would be arrested. At the bottom of the paypal email, that claimed all of this, were several photos of people being arrested by the police. Please let me know if you also think this is a scam. I am very worried that I will be arrested for not violating or breaking any laws. I also sent the sketchy emails to the email for spoof for paypal and it replied that it was a fishing and fraudulent email. Thanks!
