Paypal -
As you might be aware, Gmail ignores periods on their e-mail addresses (e.g paypal at gmail and p.a.y.p.a.l at gmail are exactly the same account).
The issue is also described here: https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/My-Feedback-for-PayPal/Someone-else-has-used-my-gmail-address-and-Paypal-won-t-do/m-p/1285416
I understand this is specific to gmail and Paypal cannot blindly ignore periods.
However, I'm now having that issue as someone tried to create an account with a variance of my gmail account and now I'm being spammed by Paypal. Paypal is sending marketing e-mails to that account - which happens to be mine - without a consent/permission.
I've never pressed the "Confirm my e-mail" button on Paypal's first e-mail.
Isn't Paypal breaking anti-spam laws and regulations?
Shouldn't Paypal only send marketing e-mails to verified accounts?
Thanks,
Felipe
