Great News to everyone who has been ripped off by this scam. If you have been a victim you will need to RING PayPal, like with a telephone and speak to them. They will give you their angle on things so you just need to insist that they investigate this as a scam. If the try the runaround, ask to speak to a supervisor. You will be fully refunded for your purchase and you will not be required to return the item. The second benefit to this is that PayPal will become more aware of the situation and will act sooner to stop others from being scammed too. The case we all raised and escalated to a claim is closed off and the decision made is all done by software, when you call, a real live person will make a decision, and very likely in your favour but they also have to document the reason for providing you a refund and this will trigger alerts when it starts happening often enough. I can happily say again that I have faith in PayPal again. I would also like to thank those of you who posted here, it made me realise it wasn't just me and I needed to take action.
