I ordered a 3-4 person double layer hydraulic tent for $69.99 (saw the ad on Facebook from Molyes Stores). Their website now redirects to ilovecamping[dot]us. They also have another scam running on polaristore[dot]net.
I usually order from a website I know and trust, but I live in Brazil now and my options are limited for shipping. This company offered free international shipping, and because payment was settled by PayPal, I believed I could trust it. The product that arrived was not anything like what was advertised on their website. A $5 single layer kiddie tent not large enough for a single adult, no hydraulic system as advertised. The product is useless and will end up in the trash. At first I thought maybe this was an honest mistake, but when I saw that it was shipped from China (the website claims to be US-based), and saw how many folks online had the same problem, I knew I was scammed. I escalated to PayPal, explaining that it was a scam, and included links to Ripoff Report [https://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/specific_search/molyes] to show that there are dozens of other victims of this same scam. PayPal responded by asking that I return the tent back to China on my own dime in order to receive a refund. There are two problems with this solution... 1) The cost to return the item exceeds $69.99, so I would lose money by returning the item. 2) The return shipping address is likely fake, and the seller would claim he never got it back - so I would risk losing $69.99 + the international shipping cost. I have decided I will go ahead and call PayPal customer service and ask to speak with a supervisor to get a refund, citing the problems above. If that doesn't work, I will try my credit card company. Will post here again with an update.
