Hi all and thanks in advance for any help and/or feedback. If anyone agrees then please speak up, hopefully PayPal will listen. If any of these are not viable then please disagree as well, as I'd love to hear drawbacks if there are any. My main reason for looking into this and bringing it up is that I recently had a credit card from a different company compromised, and the only thing that saved me was that I had alerts set up for transactions. Because of that - I was able to spot the fraudulent activity almost immediately, cancel that card, and get new card issued. Is there any way to be alerted for any purchases made from the PayPal credit cards that are issued from Synchrony Bank? I cannot find a way either on the PayPal website nor on the Synchrony website. To be fair, PayPal does not have alerts at all for any type of transaction but at least with normal PayPal transactions and/or PayPal Credit transactions you will get emailed a receipt after a purchase. Since the same does not happen with the PayPal credit cards there is currently no way of knowing when or if the credit cards issued by Synchrony Bank have been used fraudulently, other than logging in frequently and checking recent activity. This seems like a major oversight in my opinion. In this age of massive data breaches there's no reason for a money/transaction based website not to have these kinds of preventative measures in place. Not having an app based 2FA for login security only adds to that (I do have SMS 2FA set up, but app based 2FA is much more secure). I am not trying to really "lay into" PayPal as it is a great service. I love being able to use PayPal in lieu of giving my credit card information directly to another website. Especially if it is a website that I have not used previously. But I'd feel a lot more secure if they added some features to it, that I feel are sorely lacking. - Customizable purchase alerts for any payment methods linked to PayPal - App based 2FA for login security - Virtual credit cards (for at least 1 designated card, if not all)
