I sold an item recently through an Instagram buy/sell account. The buyer messaged that the hat she received is not the hat in the photos and that it’s smushed and she would like her money back. I’m a little angry about this accusation of deception, I sent exactly the item she bought. I also took great care to package it well and ship quickly. I have a feeling it’s actually a case of buyers remorse. “I received the wrong item, and also what you sent is damaged.” I feel like she should be responsible for the return shipping cost. And certainly receive no refund until I have the item back in my possession. I’m not a merchant, so I’m unsure of how to proceed.
