Google recently released a new version of their security on Google Sites, which cripples Paypal payment buttons. The reasoning is that they are cracking down on malicious code embedded in HTML boxes, the only currently acceptable way for the custom buttons to work. There is no workaround and they indicate that some sites can not be updated to their "New standards". They recommend Google Wallet.
Paypal, I would be concerned about an anti-competitive stance on this. Regardless of their reasoning, the gave no warning and are blaming Paypal for not having a secure enough method for coding onto websites. By all appearances, they are hiding behind this excuse to cripple a market segment on the web and force to their own wallet standards.
We may move our entire site away from Google Sites, but others may simply cave. I'd be alarmed at this move if I were Paypal.
