Hello everyone, kind of at my wits end at the moment so decided to bring this issue up with the community in hopes someone here might be able to advise. Quite some time ago, I commissioned an item set with an independent seller. The items in question were incredibly pricey, coming to nearly £2000. Now, at the time, myself and the seller agreed to pay for the items in installments as and when I was able, as I was between jobs at the time. This was, as mentioned before, quite some time ago now, a few years to be exact. Now myself, being a quiet person, kept on at the seller every few weeks to see how the items were coming along. Continuously I've been led to believe the items were near completion, even being shown photo's to prove stuff. However, recently the seller has been uncontactable in any form and I feel that I've effectively lost a rather substantial sum of money because the seller was able to string me along to get everything well past the 180 days. Not only that, but I can only presently see the transactions for two of the payments, which barely even cover half of the cost. Honestly, I feel like a fool and have no idea what to do. My mum's has advised me to take the matter to a lawyer but the idea of it worries me. To the community, or any PayPal staff who may be reading this, what would you advise? Would PayPal be able to get the records of my payments to the seller in question to allow me to raise a dispute or have I just lost £2000 with nothing to show for it?
