@kernowlass maybe nothing is wrong with it - that is my question : is there anything wrong with it? it makes no sense to me and after browsing the forums i couldn't find any evidence that it was even possible to issue a refund for a "money sent to friends and family" , but rather, according to what i have read, it's only possible to issue a refund for a payment for a good or service, which I never made to her. presumably if you are selling items, and you have to issue a lot of refunds, this might affect your paypal account negatively in some way? I don't know how paypal tracks these things..

@kernowlass, I sent money to them, via send money to friends and family. Instead of paying me back, by "sending money to friends and family" back to me, they issued me a refund, as though, instead of loaning them money, I had purchased an item from them and they then issued me a refund. But the initial transaction where I loaned them money was me sending them money via a "send money to friends and family" transaction. Does that make sense?

Hi, A few weeks ago I sent some money to a friend. today, they paid me back but did so using the "refund" feature. This is confusing to me, because I sent the money via "send money to friends and family feature" , so I don't follow how they could "refund" me the money as though the money had been for a purchase. Will this have any effects I should know about for either of our accounts? Does a refund take the same amount of time as a "send money to friends and family" transaction to arrive in my account? The transaction IDs for the two transactions are completely different, one doesn't seem to reference the other. thanks in advance for your help!
