Hi all, I made a purchases on a website with my debit card and apparently the transaction is through Paypal anyway even though I did NOT have a paypal account at the time of the purchase (I created this one so I could access customer service, the community and prove my address). Shortly after I completed the payment, I received an email that Paypal is reviewing my transaction and then I got the following email from compliance: Dear xxx , As part of our security measures, we regularly screen information and payments in the PayPal system. During a recent screening, we noticed an issue regarding your recent transaction. In connection with the issue, PayPal's Compliance Department identified information that we have a couple of questions about. To resolve the compliance inquiry in a timely fashion, PayPal is requesting that you provide the following information via fax to (303) 395-2862 or (402) 537-5731: • Documents to confirm your place of residence. In place of a utility bill, we'll accept a copy of a mobile phone bill or any other official document that confirms the address you live at. The documents provided must be dated within 90 days of this request. • A copy of a valid government-issued photo ID showing your date of birth, such as your driver's license or passport. Please make the copy as large and as light as possible. We thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. We apologize for any inconvenience. Sincerely, Jason PayPal Compliance Department First of all, why on earth am I required to do this when I purchased the product without even having a Paypal account? My problem now is that I have no idea if the product is being shipped (product website not responding to emails or calls) or if my money is at Paypal or the product website I bought it from. I can only conclude that the money has been drawn from my bank account..
