Ok, so a few years ago, like many others I applies for the PayPal Credit Card. I was denied, but they were very happy to set me up with Smart Connect. That worked OK, I would build up the balance around Christmas and then pay it down. I am no banker's angel, there were times I would not make the payment and have a month or two gap. But, late fees and interest is how banks make money, right? So, I had not looked at Smart Con for a couple of months, found I had a pay due next month and scheduled it. The next screen said my account had been closed. I called and the robot lady on the phone said I owed NOTHING! (I knew better, so I waited for a live person). He finally picked up, said that it was true, my account was closed for missed monthly payment. I asked why no effort to warn me of impending action. No answer. I asked about any appeal. None to his knowledge. No recourse, no appeal, no help at all. This "Synchrony Bank" must be manned by all the workers fired from Wells Fargo! I am appalled that there is no effort to retain customers who have been such for years and to treat them callously. PayPal.... You need to pick your financial partners from a pool that does not include a cabal of pawnbrokers, car-title loan agents, payday lenders and other Shylocks.
