So check this out, I was selling something on a marketplace app and for some reason the buyer “couldn’t finalize the payment” and asks for my email (stupid move on my part). Then I get this “Paypal Services” email that’s looks suspect to begin with because the email came from a gmail account... Last time I checked, PayPal didn’t send emails from gmail. Second red flag, my name was not in the email, and third red flag, there was an address provided and when I clicked on it, it did not match to what showed up on my google maps. Also there is no money in my paypal account or that shows even pending. He claims paypal holds the money until a tracking number is provided but I don’t believe that’s how things work after using paypal for a couple of transactions. Let me know what you all think!
