I recently made my first sale on eBay - a PDA device. The buyer wanted to return it - that is fine and part of the agreement. However, he said that the charger tip was broken, probably due to me not packing it in protective material. Well, the tip was not broken when I sent it and it was packed carefully by the Eagle Postal Center clerk in bubble wrap and put in an appropriate box that held it steady. It was then mailed the day after sale by a UPS insured and trackable method, at extra cost to me, because as a first time seller, I wanted to do this right. So the buyer is lying about the packing - I suspect in order to get me to pay for the return. Anyway, that aside, I did not contest, honoured the return policy and resolved the dispute by refunding the money. 14 days later I have still not received the item back. How long does the seller have to return it? What recourse do I have if they do not return it? I feel that this was a scam to keep the item and get the money back. I would really welcome some advice on this!
