I have a common name and have an email address on a popular provider under that common name, although I don't use it day-to-day. Also I stress that none of this has anything to do with my own PayPal account, or the email address associated with my account. I had an email shopping receipt recently from the service PayPal address addressed to this other email account, although it looked like it used a guest PP account as it also said "Pay faster next time - create a PayPal account". This individual obviously provided an incorrect email address when checking out their purchase, but today, 4 days later, I received another email from the same merchant, via the same service email address saying they'd sent a partial refund. I've had this happen once or twice in the past, should/can I do anything to notify PP that someone is using an incorrect address with their PayPal purchases? I know it can't affect me in any way but I wonder if unsuspecting folks can end up losing funds due to their mistakes. Thanks in advance... (edited title)
