generic question: if it states on your paypal account under Tax Documents, that you have no 2017 documents available. does that mean you have none available OR does it mean you could still have one coming OR does it mean you arent getting one. now thi s would be prior to 1/31/18, if it was after 1/31/18 it woudl be safe to say that person would not be getting one
@racefan9160 - We would recommend waiting until after January 31st to be sure. After that date, you should be good. Monitoring your reports for accuracy never hurts though.

what if a person was 500 dollars under the 20K threshold, would paypal send out a 1099k on that account becuase it is so close?
Nope. 🙂

i also have never seen that report available to be ran on any account that i have seen.
i have seen the total of transactions but you would still have to manually go through it to get the correct totals
@That's strange. 😞 If there are any errors locating the report based on the instructions provided, I would recommend reaching out to our customer support teammates for further research on the issue. Customer support can be reached by clicking "Help & Contact" on the PayPal website, @AskPayPal on Twitter or the PayPal Facebook page.

i would think if the same # was verified by a customer service rep that the person calling has the number would be accurate, is that safe to say?
Yes. 🙂
One thing you did bring up in a previous message is that this is all assuming a person only has one PayPal account. If a person has more than one PayPal account and the accounts go over the thresholds combined, then it is possible that a 1099-K would be generated for the account holder.
I hope this has been helpful! If you have further questions, please visit our Tax Reporting page. 🙂
