Hi! I was in the market for a Chloe Faye bag and was scoping out eBay for some pre-loved deals and found this listing for the exact bag I wanted for $460. The bag itself is worth 1390 so that should have been my first red flag. Everything on the listing looked correct- It said it was coming from the US, the user accepted returns, the pictures and description looked authentic. Heck, the description even mentioned that the item was bought in Corte Madera, CA. My only gripe was that the seller had 0 feedback-- but I gave him/her the benefit of the doubt since it seemed like it was coming from a real person (the username didn't look that fishy). After purchasing from the seller, I messaged him/her on the following business day to see when the bag would ship. No response. So my gut was telling me that this was a scam. Fortunately, I googled around and consulted PurseForum to see if anyone else saw similar scams, and surely enough there were brand new accounts (under 1 month old) who were spotting users stealing photos from other users, marking the bag down siginificantly in price, and using a inconspicuous username to fool people into buying the item. (i.e. karensmith-0) I logged into my PayPal account and found that the charge from the purchase was actually to a Chinese name, meaning it was not who I thought it was. Since the time I found out I was being scammed (which was last night), I have filed a dispute on PayPal, called my bank to report the scam and dispute the charge, and messaged the seller about cancelling the order. Again, the seller was not responsive on eBay. However, since I filed a dispute, the seller has provided a tracking number-- which is shipping from HONG KONG. Is there any way that I can ensure I win this dispute and get all of my hard earned money back?
