My website allows for users to "subscribe" and pay a monthly recurring fee. My problem is currently when the user clicks on the button to check out, if they want to pay with credit card, they are forced to create a PayPal account. There must be a way to allow someone to subscribe without having to create a PayPal account? I just want them to be able to use their credit cards to initiate the recurring payment... nice and simple. I am using Sandbox account to test. I am in Canada. I am using a "subscriptions button" using PayPal Payments Standard. In my Profile settings under Website Payment Preferences > PayPal Account Optional, I have it toggled ON. However, it mentions "This feature is available for Buy Now, Donations, and Shopping Cart buttons, but not for Subscription buttons." Apparently, it will not work for Subscription buttons as I had hoped. I tried going to Recurring Payments > Recurring payments dashboard > Sign up for Enhanced Recurring Payments, however, it gave me the message: "Thanks for your interest in Enhanced Recurring Payments. At this time, the service is not available to your account. Fortunately, we offer another great solution for recurring payments. You can sign up for a recurring payments service specifically designed for Website Payments Pro." Is accepting credit cards with my subscription button without users having to sign up for PayPal just not possible on PayPal Payments Standard? I am really hoping I do not have to look into PayPal Payments Pro just to accomplish this because it looks like it requires a lot more technical knowledge and using Payments Standard is really easy... just pasting the button code on my website. What are my options for accomplishing what I want (accepting credit card recurring payments without users having to sign up for PayPal)? Thank you.
