Has anyone else experienced racial profiling with PayPal? One of my clients received money from a US citizen with a middle eastern name. They immediately froze their account and mine when they attempted to send me money. After a very messy snafu where PayPal sent me an email requesting I obtain the birthdate of the 3rd party which I found a direct violation for they requesting me to obtain confidential information rather than PayPal directly contacting the sender. Besides I had nothing to do with the transaction the sender did not send money to me. Finally after producing an avalanche of documents the money less than 2500 was released. Here we are a month later and PayPal has again picked this sole individual to target again and had frozen all the funds on the receivers account and my account as well as just someone doing business with the receiver of the money. This is so racist. When I called PayPal both times they said they pick random people for security checks, Really! Same person twice in a row with a foreign name and never before in years of doing business have we had this happen. All of us are forced to wait with no end in site when the money will be realeased all because of someone’s name and nationality.
