Why is the PayPal number so hard to find other than to frustrate and thwart users? I have to wonder how much money gets left behind because of the difficultly in getting it back. Small amounts add up fast when you have over a million customers. I have not found a major company, bank or investment firm where I had to search for the phone number. What is it PayPal has to hide that the customer service phone number is not easily found? It belongs on the Paypal page that opens when you log in. If you have a PayPal account you should have easy access to the phone number. After all we employ PayPal and it's OUR money, not yours.

Please carefully read my original reply! If you take a picture or copy your social security card using your printer and then use white out on the COPY you will have not changed your original card in any way. Next make a copy or take a picture of edited COPY #1 that you used the white out on. You still have not changed your Social Security card in any way! Now send the 2nd copy, which will not show your Social Security number, to PayPal. Put your original Social Security card back where you keep it. It remains unharmed and unchanged.

PayPal is messing you over as they seem to be doing to all their customers since PayPal married eBay. Contact your seller and explain what is happening and ask if the seller will accept a money order or certified check from your bank.

Hey, go ahead and send them a photo of your Social Security card BUT FIRST take a photo of your Social Security card, get some white out and change any of the numbers you want or just white out all the numbers and then send them a copy of your Social Security card without your Social Security number. You posses a Social Security card thus, according to what PayPal is saying, you are legit. I am beginning to hate PayPal.

Paypal and eBay are now one and the same. They are holding our payments to collect interest and ripping buyers and sellers off. This needs to be stopped and eBay and PayPal should never have been allowed to combine! This is just about as close to a monopoly as one can get and encourages abuses by both eBay and PayPal. My bank just verified my check cleared on the 26th of November and as of November 30th my seller still has not been notified he has been paid. There have been nothing but complaints since PayPal and eBay merged. It's time to untie that financial marriage!

I have purchased 3 vehicles using PayPal and each time I had to dredge up a credit card when the funds were in my bank account. I also do not like having to submit a credit card in order to pay for something when I have cash in the bank. My husband and I decided to get a very small limit credit card to use for PayPal just to stop the hassle. Best Regards and Good Luck!
