PayPal Community

We are using wooocommerce with wordpress and one method of payment is paypal.   Customers frequently receive this error paying with paypal standard: "Please try again later". It happens I believe because the customer was logged in to paypal recently and paypal is unable to connect to their account so issues this error. If the cache is cleared the transaction works. Often the customer chooses a different way to pay instead. It is frustrating for them.   This also happens with another client using a custom paypal system also using paypal standard. This is definitely a Paypal Standard bug. Although i believe I have seen it with Paypal Express as well. I really hope paypal corrects this. Hi there,   Using a custom form that sends information to Paypal using this URL: https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr   The customer gets the option to login and pay using their paypal account  or pay as a guest. I  have used the Paypal variables to populate the guest form (if it selected) and all of these fields are populated correctly except "email". So, first_name, last_name, address1, etc. are all appear on the guest form, but the email variable does not.  What appears for email is the last email one used to attempt to login to Paypal (it has been cookied). Is there a way of overriding this? Perhaps clearing the cookies automatically before sending the email variable?   thank you to anyone who can help ... View more

Hi there,   I am using woocommerce with Paypal Payments (paypal or credit card with Paypal) and have asked them about this and they say it is a paypal issue.  When the client selects to pay by Paypal, they get an option to change shipping address (inside of paypal) or modify the  shipping address (if they select to pay by credit card as a guest). We don't ship and only have pick-up. We are concerned some of our customer's might think they can get the product shipped. When we used Paypal standard with woocommerce, no shipping options ever appeared inside of Paypal or the credit card transaction. This problem has only started since we switched from Paypal Standard to Paypal payments. We had to switch due to a bug in Paypal Standard inside of woocommerce. Regardless, they are phasing out Paypal Standard from woocommerce, so this moved would be necessary soon anyway.    If anyone can help, we would be grateful. Thank you, Andrea ... View more
