Hi, recenetly a transaction came out of my bank account that i did not authorise, my bank statement says paypal was used to make a payment to the merchant, i recognise the merchant, there a pretty popular online gaming electronics site but it was not me who purchased from them, i called my bank first and they returned the money and blocked my card, it was my bank who told me it was a paypal purchase, so i immediately logged into my paypal account to see the transaction. this is were it gets confusing for me, there is no history of the transaction in my account activity, nothing, i started to think somone maybe had my card number on there own paypal account and used it to make the purchase, however i found out that should not be possible and the same card cannot be on two different paypal accounts. so i called paypal for some answers, i gave them my details (last 4 card numbers) and name, and they could see the transaction on there system, they said it was made using ebay and some sort of paypal guest account?? there is nothing on my own ebay account and like i said no transaction on my paypal account, they asked for my gmail, and apparently its not the same gmail used to make the purchase so they couldn't give me any more information about the transaction because i provided a different email?? i know all the information to my own paypal account. i asked them how it was possible somone is using my card number to make purchases using paypal when its apparently impossible to have the same card on two different accounts, they said it wasn't a second paypal account but a guest account, that a guest account was used to make the purchase, what is a guest account? is this a seperate paypal account or not? did they use my paypal account or not? the lady i was speaking to was clearly looking at the transaction that was made, using a email address that was not mine, so she is obviously looking at some sort of paypal account which is not my own? what has happend here, has my paypal been compromised or not, shall i change my password? my ebay password? i have not lost my card, its been with me the entire time.
